A New Year, A New Look (and Website)

Written on January 4, 2017

The year 2016 is officially over (whew) and it's on to 2017. Each year we get together as a team to recap what went well, what didn't go so well, and how to move forward. Here's a quick summary of that session and then we'll get onto the more exciting news: a new website!

2016 » 2017

While 2016 wasn't a great year for many folks, we were quite fortunate here at Thrive. We did a ton of great work for a pretty large pharmaceutical company who totally rebranded this year. We also started new relationships with a couple of fun fishing & marine companies: Beavertail Skiffs and Bonefish & Tarpon Trust. If you haven't checked out their new sites, be sure to do that (and some of the cool new hats/shirts we helped design for Beavertail in their store)!

We started the year with 6 people and are finishing out the year at 5, but that sort of thing happens. Despite all that, we probably churned out the amount of work that requires a dozen people, so we were all grateful to have a week off between Christmas and New Year's to recharge the proverbial batteries and come back ready to roll!

The New Website

As I write this article, I'm staring at the new website. You haven't seen it yet, but by the time you read this article, it will have launched and that's exciting. The previous version of this site (the one that's still LIVE as I 'm writing) was actually the first website we created after becoming Thrive Creative Labs. (If you weren't aware, we were actually FliteHaus Creative Agency until a few years ago when we decided to change the name and commit to the outdoor industries.) It served us well, but it was time to clean things up, make things faster, and continue to really dive in on outdoor industry marketing.

So.. we introduce our new website:

We really wanted to stray away from the usual logo » header » content » footer pattern and do something a little different (at least for the home page). With the home page grid, we packed in some case studies, Instagram posts, a featured blog article, and more. We're pretty happy with how it turned out and are looking forward to keeping it updated as we produce new content and complete new projects!

In addition to the new home page and cleaned up overall theme, we updated the portfolio section and simplified our industry pages. Long story short, we made everything just a little bit nicer and faster and that's a good thing!
